Week 5 in Pecos!

Hello my amazing family!!
This week in Pecos was a hard week but it was still good. Seriously everyone went out of town!! It was nuts! It was so hard to get lessons this week and so knocking was like zero, but we had some good phone contact this week with our investigators. We stayed super busy though this week with service! We are helping them set up the new library, so that is super cool! We also went around to local businesses and asked if they needed service.  It turns out everyone in Pecos are working on inventories for their business, so I did like 4 inventories this week for businesses and then Elder Garcia would share the gospel with everyone in the shop :) It was fun! Finding all the time! We also had exchanges in Rt Stockton this week and it was good! For my animal loving brothers, I caught a Texas horny toad and its baby while doing service! The baby lizard was as small as a dime! We also caught a scorpion :) It was cool! The work down there was slow, but we got to help them out! We also had interviews this week with President Hales.  He loves the mission and he is definitely here to help us! He is such a humble and reverent guy!  So, funny story, we had 40 people at church this week because everyone slept in and missed church! It was funny! Everyone got back Saturday and they all forgot to set their alarms for church the next day! Everyone is back though  and we are going to hit it hard!
I love you all!! I hope you have a great day!

San Angelo Letter #6 - TRANSFERS!

Hi everyone!!!!! This week has been awesome! We are emailing a little earlier because Elder Berta needs more time to pack. :) Surprise! Elder Berta is getting transferred which I am sad about because we became really good friends and we did a lot of good work. This week was the usual. We had a good week. We taught and found a lot of referrals for the English Elders again, which was fun. There was a huge downpour on Saturday.  We helped take down a big art event.  It took forever but was a lot of fun. We then had a branch activity Saturday evening that we put on. Only about ten people showed up, which was sad, but it was a lot of fun. Tuesday we had sports night. We have it every Tuesday. It is put on by the YSA, but we use it to get LA youth from all over San Angelo out and to come to church. The other days were pretty routine. We spent a lot of time prepping for the branch activity. We did a huge bingo night!! It was fun. We had to bake cookies and make boards and run it all.
Now, are you ready for my transfer doctrine....... I'M A TRAINER!!!!!!!! I"m getting a brand new missionary straight out of the MTC by the name of Elder Meldrum. I'll show you our spot on the roster in an attachment. PS... blue means Spanish, red means in training, and the tr means trainer. It is super both nerve racking but also a lot of fun! I'm super excited and it will help me as a missionary. Hopefully this greenie is ready to work, because we are going to hit the streets and we are going to get investigators!! Good news is though, this last transfer Elder Berta and I reactivated four LA families, which is awesome. We still don't have any investigators but we did a lot of awesome LA work and I was definitely sent here to work with Elder Berta which has been a lot of fun! I'm glad I did the work I needed to and now I'm training!  It's so scary and yet I am so pumped!!! Got any advice for me?!  Hope everything at home is great! I love you guys and you guys are the best!!

San Angelo Letter #5 - HELLO!!!

Hello family!!!!!
This week has been lots of fun!! Not too much has changed but I think that is what makes it fun.  I get to work my
hardest everyday and get to see the seeds get planted!!! Sorry I didn't get to email yesterday due to Labor Day, but it's all good! This last week has been a lot of trying to stop by former investigators, which has been a lot of fun. We have a big binder of former investigators since 2008. We have tried going by a ton of houses and it has been awesome, but a ton of them have moved. We did get two return appointments set with 2 different people which is awesome!!  We got our car back! Yeah! This Saturday is transfer calls which is crazy, because this transfer has just flown by!! It is nuts!!!  We have given a ton of blessings the last couple of days! We had a fun experience where a random car drove up and wanted us to pray for this girl who was just in a terrible physical state. I don't know why, but we started praying and the spirit prompted to give her a blessing.  I followed the prompting and later Elder Berta was said he had the same prompting.  It was fun. Hopefully everything went well. This week was good.  We are still going strong!   I love you and hope you have a good rest of the day!!!!
